The Overseers, like most anyone who gets to the top of the ladder, want to make certain that no upstart can ever challenge their position. Thus, anyone who is deemed a threat dies. But a new political group has had it with all the butchery, so the ruling class has to try a new angle. To this end, they conscript the members of Platoon F into service and set them on a sabotage mission against a planet called Kallian, which is on the brink of discovering warp technology.

If the Kallian scientists fail, all will be well; but if they succeed, Kallian will have to be destroyed ... and so will the crew of Platoon F.

Readers will find a new, fun, racy, sometimes outrageously stupid, comedic science fiction (SciFi) universe to play in. Space ships, space marines, robots, androids, technology, time travel, alien races, and good old-fashioned military quirks fill the pages of Platoon F.

Enjoyable read, with glimmers of genius hiding throughout

First, a word of warning to potential readers...This book is NOT politically correct. If you are easily offended then don't read this. But if you are tired of overly PC books and enjoy some slightly warped humor (kind of at a high-school boy level, but with occasional humor with deep insight), there is a good chance you will enjoy this.

Some of the high points: Imagine a Marine drill instructor training recruits on an overly PC world. This alone was worth the purchase price of the book.

I also enjoyed lines like "All they needed was the right mix of thrust, luck, and a complete disregard for physics." This is usually an important part of any science fiction, but it was refreshing to see it acknowledged out loud.

Many of the kinks from the first few books are finally getting worked through, and the stage is finally set for several interesting possible stories. I look forward to future efforts. Characters are becoming more complex, and the plot had a few surprises.

Enjoy! (unless you are part of the PC police, in which case I say Ignore!

Platoon F for Fantastic!

This book is absolutely fantastic! If I didn't have to work then I wouldn't have been able to put it down! I have only recently started reading John P. Logsdon books and he is now in my top 3 authors.

I have loved all of the Platoon F series. These books may be shorter than most, but they deliver a great, full story in each book. Warped Conduit has just the right mix of humour, action and "complete disregard for the laws of physics" that make it really stand out.

I cannot wait to see what happens to the crew over their next few adventures, and I really want my own Geezer!

You will not be disappointed with this book, unless you have no sense of humour or are so politically correct that you are unable to leave the house for fear of offending someone.

Enjoyed this. Light-hearted and entertaining

I was given a copy of this for an honest review and I ended up being very pleased with this. It was a fun read and in places I just had to laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of the situations in which these characters found themselves. No, this is not a serious read, but it is an entertaining one. The book pokes gentle fun at a number of classics in the genre of sci fi and does not take itself too seriously. I had a lot of fun reading it. True, some of the humor is coarse but I didn't find that it detracted from the overall story at all. I found this a welcome antidote to books I have read lately which seem overly impressed with their own importance. I think that if you enjoy Robert Asprin, you'll find this fun, too. With summer upon us, this would make a great beach read.

About the Author
Anila Chandra is a home maker and a great cook. She learned her cooking skills from the very best teacher – her mother, a strict vegetarian to whom the Ashram style cooking came naturally. She has taught Indian cooking at a community college in Anchorage, Alaska. Niraj Chandra is a professional engineer working and living in Canada. He has been practicing yoga for a long time and he has taught yoga at the Alaska Pacific University. He revels in his wife’s cooking. He loves good food and drink, and over the years, his taste has migrated towards Ashram style cooking. He has personally tried out all the recipes in the book, to make sure that even an engineer can follow the instructions. Both husband and wife have visited many ashrams in India and in North America and these visits have been the inspiration behind this book.

While there are many books on Indian cooking with various recipes, I found “The Ashram Diet” by Anila and Niraj Chandra to be totally different. It talks about the spiritual aspects of vegetarian food from the perspective of yogis. It is essential reading for anyone who practices yoga in any shape or form.

As I was reading this book, I focussed on just one recipe from the book – Sour Cereal- and it blew me away. It takes less than 20 minutes to prepare the dish, using the step by step instructions provided in the book. The results were excellent and the Sour Cereal is now one of my favourite breakfast dishes. I simply cannot wait to try out all the other recipes in this amazing book.

I look forward to more books/recipes of this kind from these authors. Good luck in all your new ventures.

This is a fantastic book with so much great information

This is a fantastic book with so much great information! Much needed as life becomes more fast paced and our diet becomes an afterthought. This book puts the different kinds of diets into perspective and matches them to our personality. It effectively shows us how to select our foods and how our food effects our behavior.

The book is easy to follow and it has a great set of recipes that are not found anywhere and are the secret recipes of Ashrams in India. The recipes are yummy and healthy, I have tried a few so far already! The recipes are very authentic and different from the typical food found in Indian restaurants, must try recipes!

Excellent book for my purposes!

Ordered this book because I am reviving my high school Spanish from 50 years ago. The book itself is very simple to use, and the condition is as advertised. Although it is earlier edition, it is what our classes currently use. I'm very happy with the book and would recommend it to others, especially as the price for the older edition was only pennies + shipping.

When I purchased this book, at the time only said wear to the cover, so only expecting that issue, I could live with but half of my workbook pages are gone; mind I tell you I have homework in these few dozen of pages! Very dissatisfied. And it took 2 weeks to get here!

Fabulous and Fresh Blaze!!

Sarah Mayberry has become one of the few reasons to read Harlequin Blaze anymore. Her stories are always fresh and interesting with likable and realistic characters. Take One Me is no different.

Sadie Post had a wild crush on high school bad boy Dylan. But when he humiliated her at prom, she vowed to forget him and try to move on. Too bad a small part of her heart has always longed for the teen. But life takes a turn for the dramatic when Dylan becomes part of the Oceans Boulevard soap opera writing team. Sadie is his boss now but she still feels like the fluttery and shy teenager she used to be.

Dylan has likewise never forgotten the humiliation he felt at the hands of Sadie in their American Lit class. Her humiliation of him has spurred him to make great strides in his professional career and he is determined to show her the man he has become and, yeah, rub it in her face a bit.

But with attraction boiling between them, and with misconceptions blazing, something has to give and before they know it, it will be their hearts that finally come together.

Funny and fresh! Sadie is a hoot, though a still very insecure woman. She has recently experienced a painful rejection from her former fiance when he left her at the altar, so seeing Dylan again, the major rejection from her teenage years, makes the pain even more strong. Luckily, she is a character who isn't going to be beaten down and she does all she can to show Dylan that he doesn't matter to her. She has many vulnerabilities but is still a strong and dynamic character. Her interactions with Dylan light sparks off the page.

Dylan is no slouch either. He's still a bit of a rebel, but he has come a long way and is proud of what he has accomplished. He also has a huge chip on his shoulder and it is amusing to watch Sadie slowly chip away at it.

Sadie and Dylan were both charismatic characters who kept the story moving. The dialogue, plot, and secondary characters were all spot on and I can't wait to see where Ms. Mayberry takes the rest of the series. This is one category romance worth investing in.

I loved Dylan and Sadie! They were both stubborn and smart and sexy, with a vulnerability left over from their high school relationship. I couldn't wait for them to resolve their issues and live happily ever after. The love scenes at the office were only overshadowed by the ones in the woods - yum. I was wishing for a Dylan of my own by the end.
Sarah Mayberry has never disappointed me, and this book was no exception to that.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Sarah Mayberry is the master of romance! Nobody does it better as far as I'm concernced. All of her books deal with the taboo romance and this book is no exception. Anyone who has ever had an unrequited high school crush will relate to Take On Me. I have already read this book twice and I'm sure a third will be required!!! I can't wait for your next book, Sarah!
